Inter Milan held 1-1 by Bari

Champion Inter Milan was held to a 1-1 draw at home by newly promoted Bari in its first match of the new season on Sunday.

Inter's main rivals both won, with Juventus beginning its season with a 1-0 win at home to Chievo Verona thanks to a Vincenzo Iaquinta header, whilst AC Milan won away to Siena on Saturday.

Samuel Eto'o opened the scoring for Inter with his first goal for his new side when he slotted home a penalty on 56 minutes, before Vitali Kutuzov equalized with 15 minutes to go.

Jose Mourinho's team was lackluster and struggled to break down an ultra-defensive Bari side.

Mario Balotelli came on midway through the first half to join Eto'o and Diego Milito in attack, whilst winger Ricardo Quaresma was brought on at halftime to provide further attacking options.

Despite the changes Inter was unable to create any clear chances.

"We knew that the first game is always tough, especially against a newly promoted team," Inter midfielder Thiago Motta said. "We knew they would cause us problems and put us under pressure.

"In the second half we started well and had a number of chances to score. We messed them up and we missed some good chances."

Weak efforts from Eto'o, Milito, Maicon and Motta were the best Inter produced in the first half, whilst Kutuzov had the best chance for Bari, but stepped on the ball when through on goal.

Leonardo Bonucci's foul on Diego Milito gave Eto'o the chance to open the scoring and the Cameroon international obliged from the penalty spot.

The ex-Barcelona striker should have doubled the lead after Milito released him in the penalty area, but with the goal at his mercy Eto'o shot wide.

On 74 minutes Kutuzov made up for his miss earlier in the game. Antonio Langella raced down the left wing, cut the ball back and Kutuzov bundled the ball past Julio Cesar.

Despite taking a first half lead Juventus did not enjoy a comfortable evening against Chievo.

Iaquinta headed Juventus into the lead when he rose to meet a Diego freekick on 12 minutes.

On 26 minutes Iaquinta should have doubled his tally and Juventus' lead.

Amauri crossed from the left and Iaquinta rose above the Chievo defense, but Stefano Sorrentino made a despairing save with his feet

For the rest of the match Ciro Ferrara's side was unable to come to terms with Chievo's physical approach.

Sergio Pellissier constantly caused problems for Juventus' defense, even if he was unable to capitalize on any of the chances created.

"I would say in the first half we played well," Ferrara said. "In the second half though we tired a bit. Chievo is a good team and made it hard to create chances.

"I'm happy with the result rather than the performance, but it is important to win. Chievo gave us all manner of problems, but it will do us good to play a team that makes life difficult on the first day of the season."

Europa League representative's Genoa and AS Roma shared five goals as Genoa won 3-2 in a thrilling match.

After a goalless first half, defender Domenico Criscito gave the hosts the lead on 49 minutes after a mix up in the Roma defense following Giuseppe Sculli's cross.

But the lead only lasted five minutes before Marco Motta picked out Marco Andreolli with a cross. His header was saved by goalkeeper Marco Amelia but Brazilian midfielder Taddei headed in the rebound.

On 65 minutes Roma captain Francesco Totti gave Roma the lead after Genoa was unable to clear a David Pizarro cross.

Four minutes later, Alberto Zapater brought Genoa back into the lead by curling a freekick over the wall and past Roma keeper Doni.

From another set piece Genoa retook the lead. Sculli fired in a shot, Doni failed to push the ball to safety and Giuseppe Biava swept in the rebound.

"We've changed a lot from last year," Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini said. "It was a good match and we had to work hard as Roma has many good players.

"We had some luck, but we deserved to profit from some luck after all the chances we created."

Also Sunday it was: Catania 1, Sampdoria 2; Lazio 1, Atalanta 0; Livorno 0, Cagliari 0; Palermo 2, Napoli 1 and Udinese 2, Parma 2.

NGAYOGYOKARTO HADININGRAT

The palace building, with its grand and elegant Javanese architecture, lies in the centre of the city. It was founded by Pangeran Mangkubumi in 1755. The Prince was then called Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono 1. He chose the right place for the site of the building, right between Winongo and Code river, a swamp area that dried up then.

The Palace building stretches from north to south. The front yard of the palace is called alun-alun Utara (North Square) and the back yard called alun-alun Selatan (South Square). The design of the building shows that the palace, the obelisk (The Tugu, the column), and Mount Merapi lie in one line. It is believed that the axis is sacred.

In the olden time. Sri Sultan used to concentrate his mind along this axis before leading a meeting or giving orders to his people. Each part of the building has its own name. The palace meeting hall is called Pagelaran. It is the place where formal meeting of the Palace officials are held. Manguntur Tangkil Hall is the place where the Sultan has his seat. This hall lies in the Siti Hinggil. Siti means ground and Hinggil means high. It is named so because the place where it was built is higher than any other ground around it. It was once a tiny island on the swamp.

The front gate is called Danapratopo. It is guarded by two giant statues called Gupala. One is called Cingkorobolo and the other is Boloupoto. What are you going to do with the rest of your life?

This is the kind of question no one in this world could exactly answer. I find it hard too.

I first heard this phrase several years back when I bought *The Essential Barbra Streisand" (2002) album and initially, it meant nothing. But don't get me wrong here, I've always loved this song (originally sang by Ms. Streisand in 1974 for "The Way We Were", album) but it's not until yesterday, this phrase really got me and struck me to the bottom.

I am always this kind of person who loves to make plans about my future and the same kind of person who likes to sit around, envisaging every possibility in life. And moreover, pondering on what I can do better to adorn this "mundane" life of mine. And this kind of habit may not only haunt the rest of me but later it goes rampant as I persuade, turning to driving others to do what I think it's good and necessary. It's like making a campaign over *CREATING YOUR BIG DREAMS BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE' - what's too late about it? It's like imposing to be heard while my life is still a zilch of interminable struggling.

I am always the one with many big dreams and that's my identity I get whenever I'm around my family, relatives and friends. Whenever they want to have somebody to talk to about wreathing their dreams, I will be their perfect partner. Because I'm always optimistic and do hold on to the faith of pursuing the dreams and the impossible. But the reality now is half the opposite. I can't continue to college and my Hollywood dreams seem so far away beyond what I can reach.

I was never been chided for my lack of conviction in life and will never be, I guess. Meanwhile my 15-year-old younger sister is more of an easy-going type. She takes life for what it is and makes a more realistic plan. She knows how to "chill" and put her feet up every now and then. One of the bad qualities I hate about myself is my occasional laziness. I can't predict when it is coming but its sudden emergence makes it unfeasible to be defeated straightforwardly. It will take tons of seconds to "recuperate" my spirit to be good to GO.

And recently, when I sat around watching a DVD (one of my favorite activities), my mom was telling off my sister to wake up from her nap and as I quote, "You should do something with your life! Do something useful. You have a whole life-span to fill and it won't get somewhere unless you start to take responsibility for your life. What do you think will happen to you in the next five or ten years?!"

Hearing the last question, I was surprised that I haven't been fully understood about the meaning of "pursuing one's dreams". It's not about exclaiming the words to the world but it's more about being brave enough to take the steep steps and dealing with risky business.

And that's exactly what I'll be doing for the rest of my life
